Testing the SRI

Testing the SRI

In close interaction with various stakeholders, the study team has developed a provisional Smart Readiness Indicator assessment method and calculation scheme.
We kindly invite all interested stakeholders to engage in the public beta testing of this approach.

The testing approach

You will be provided with a guidance package and a calculation sheet (all in English) to perform an SRI assessment on one or more buildings of your choice. It is envisioned that an assessment will take you a few hours up to one day for a building, depending on the complexity of the building and the availability of information sources. The beta testing will be carried out on a voluntary basis and will not require any specific prior knowledge on the SRI.

We kindly ask you to fill out a survey after conducting the tests, and providing us with your experiences and suggestions along with some basic information on the building and the SRI scores obtained. The feedback of the case study tests will help the Commission services and the technical study team to assess and improve the practical applicability of the SRI.  We will not disclose details of individual SRI assessors and their results without prior consent.

Assessment guidelines and calculation sheets will be distributed on 16 September 2019 to stakeholders who signed up for this testing phase.
We kindly ask you to provide your feedback by mid-November to allow it to be processed by the study team.

If you are interested in joining the SRI beta test, please sign up now by filling out this form (deadline: 31 August). Those who signed up will receive additional information on the beta testing approach and receive the information package around 16 September 2019. We also request some info on the affiliation of the testers, the country of residence, and the number and type of buildings which are planned to be assessed, in order to help the study team reach an adequate coverage of building types and locations across the EU.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
